What Is Normal?

Why is it that most gay men feel they are not normal? What is normal? This is a topic that I've heard talked about often, society has brainwashed the masses with their perception of normal. For generations people have taken a stance on what they feel is normal from slavery, interacial marriages, biracial children, ethnic equality, and sexual orientation just to name a few. If we as people were to live life according to the majority, we would be a boring and generic society full of unhappiness.

Let's take a brief look at interacial marriages: according to many people of all cultures it is a sin to marry outside of your race, now this theory of their's comes from misinterpreting the bible where "God tells his people to be separate; not to be integrated." Now just like today it was misunderstood in biblical times.
In the book of Numbers, Miriam and Aaron talked against Moses who was married to a Cushite (black woman). Due to Miriam and Aaron's self-righteous behavior, it angered God that they spoke against his prophet. Miriam would be stricken with leprosy for 7 days for her sins against Moses' marriage. (This story can be found in Numbers 12). God did say in (Deut 7:1) Israelites couldn't marry Canaanites because they were wicked idolaters. The command was based on religion not race, so interacial marriges is not a sin by God but by man.

The moral of the this post is to allow you to be happy with who God made you to be. No one can say you are not normal because of your sexuality, because you are born to be you. If everyone in the world was on the same page what would the purpose of living be. We are all suppose to love, cherish, respect, and encourage one another regardless of gender, creed, ethnic background, and social economics. If you are gay be the best damn gay person you can be, if you are straight be the best at it and leave other people's business alone. It is my opinion that there are more successful gay people than straight in the world because they are not engaging in pointless ridicule of straight folks life journey. Once we learn to control what affects our own life directly we will be a better society. I live by this statement, "Society's prejudice rejects people or things outside their understanding." Get to know people individually and learn their story before you judge.

NeNe Leakes defends 'New Normal' | S2Smagazine.com

Thursday, July 12, 2012

Living is a journey full of the unknown that captivates the hearts and souls of us all. We didn't decide to take this journey for it was non-negotiable. A part of me feel sad at times because there are so many people who take the journey for granted, it is a gift so it has to be appreciated and caressed with love and compassion. The journey was not promised to be easy but we can make the best of i...t with common sense and integrity. Live the journey to the fullest and except what we can not change but change what we can. Love, hate, compassion, positivity, and negativity are things that can be control, so control your destiny while traveling the journey and the end will be filled with prosperity. STOP THE HATE AND LET'S CELEBRATE ONE ANOTHER!

What Happened To The Music?

What Happen To The Music/BET Awards
I'm concern for today's generation when it comes to music. Do they know what music is or the purpose for music? Well, I say no to both question. When you think back in the days of slavery music was inspiration while enduring the pain and agony of bondage. It also was a form of communication for the slaves so the white men would not understand their plans for freedom. As time went in our culture music continued to be a source of inspiration, but it also became an expression of who we were. Music empowered us as a culture. It made us proud to be black, it made us proud to learn about our heritage. We used music to promote self love, self respect, and to let the world know we are as equal as everyone else. Music used to make us proud on all levels spiritually, culturally, and emotionally.
This generation don't understand the meaning of music because most of it is classless and tasteless. All you seem to hear on the radio is derogatory remarks about our women and glorifying the material things in life. The biggest glorification is money which we all know is the root of all evil. Evil has plagued our music industry and the music executives are destroying our children. We as parents have to take it back to the basic and teach our children the importance of positive, uplifting, and encouraging music. We have to introduce them to the music of yesterday in it's rarest form. Now there are some modern day artist that know the meaning of music and has continued the tradition of what music is. Jill Scott, India.Arie, Maxwell, Kem, Eryka Badu, Chrisette Michelle, Melanie Fiona, and Ledisi just to name of few are keeping with the tradition of true music for the soul. I commend them on not being victims of the industry by the demonic forces behind it. Let's promote real music to save our children.

On a more positive note BET Awards out did themselves this year with showcasing some phenonmenal artist such as Cissy Houston who did an outstanding job saluting her late daughter, Ms Whitney E. Houston, deemed "The Voice" by Oprah Winfrey. The entire tribute to Whitney Houston was by far the best portion of the show this year. Also Valerie Simpson did an amazing tribute to her late husband Nick Ashford. These are two of yesterdays artist that have the it factor when it comes to vocal talent and training. Artist such as these have helped groom some of todays few artist to continue the music journey in a rare and raw form. Examples of todays artist that showcase their raw talent would be the likes of Melanie Fiona, who by the way did an outstanding job on the BET Awards as well as the comeback artist D'Angelo.

Why Is

Why is it that when you have a calling on your life you continue to run?
Why is it that when you are connected to the right people you let them slip away?
Why is it that when you run from what God has in store for you? It's hard to get away.
Why is it that the highest mountain is easy to climb?
Why is it the widest ocean is easy to cross?
God opens doors for us to move swiftly through, but gives us the opportunity to make the decision to move forward or not.
We the people of impure souls continue to disappoint God by choosing the easy way.
I learned that any thing worth having takes work and time, the kingdom of God is promised to us.
Give God his praise and his glory for he has given us the ultimate sacrifice.
For that your "Why is" will be "Because".
I stopped running because He first loved me.
I stopped letting good connections slip away because He promise me guidance.
I embraced what He had in stored for me because it was meant for me.
I climbed the highest mountain because He gave me strength.
I crossed the widest ocean because He gave me endurance.

Let God guide you to your victory.

Be blessed beloved.

A Look Back...In Rememberance of Walter"

Hey beloveds, It's been awhile since I've posted so I decided to take the time out today to update everyone. The last two weeks have truly been draining for me. I've been traveling back and forth to New York because of a sick relative (1st cousin). While sitting at my desk at work I received a phone call telling me to hurry to NY because my youngest first cousin was dying due to lung cancer. I was devastated and confused for a moment but quickly collected my thoughts. I then told my supervisor I had to leave due to a emergency, so then I headed off to NY.

Upon my arrival to NY I went to the hospital to visit my cousin but what I saw was truly not expected nor was I prepared to see him in that state. I prayed and ask God to strengthen my family for what was to come. At that moment I knew God had made up his mind. This was a Friday night two weeks ago, my family and I spent most (if not all) of the weekend in the hospital with my cousin. While at the hospital I prayed, I cried, and I even song to my cousin. I knew he couldn't speak but he could hear so I began to sing "May The Works I've Done Speak For Me". I'm sure he understood. I then whispered in his ear telling him " I love you as well as the family loves you and if you are tired now let God have his way because this life here was just preparation for your true home."

On Sunday November 22, 2009 at 1:44pm I noticed that my youngest first cousin completed what God had him to do here so he slipped away. I rubbed his chest and said thank you God for allowing us 25 years with Walter and thank you for taking away the pain.

Some people don't understand death but if you decide to give God your heart he will give the understanding that to live is to die. He will teach you this land is not promised to us heaven is what's promised to us. God allowed us all to participate in a rehearsal called life to prepare us for eternal life in heaven or hell (it's your decision). Death can bring positive things into place. The lost of my cousin has opened up new windows and doors for unity and better relationships in my family. People have open up the lines of communication that once was impossible to do. The bible states, "Greater is he, that is in me". I truly believe because of the greatness of God that was in Walter is the reason his crossing over has given my family a brighter and better future.

To my cousins Darryl and Kiba, I can't replace Walter nor would I ever try but you both know that I am forever your brother. Darryl, you thanked me for being there when you fell, well always remember that I'm going to be your rock. When I think you are about to fall I'll be there to catch you but most importantly I'll be there so you can not fall. The love you and I share will never be understood by man or us for that matter...lol.

W= willing to help all mankind
A= angel sent from up above
L= laughter that inspired all to enjoy life
T= true friend forever
E= easy to love
R= rare diamond

Beloveds, take the time out to tell someone that you love them because tomorrow is not promised. Live your life as if today was your last, it is so important to appreciate all that God is allowing us to experience in this world. Enjoy it, be a blessing to others, and most importantly be a blessing to yourself by knowing God.

love you all

My Cousin and I, A Reflection of Peace

This morning my cousin and I had a very deep and spiritual conversation about life, ourselves and success in our careers. It makes me smile when I see and hear the bond that he has gain with God. My cousin, Darryl is truly amazing. He constantly reminds me that he has always looked up to me growing up, but it's funny now that the tables have turned. I really look up to him. With all that he and I have endured in our lives we've gain so much through our pain.

We are on our way to amazing heights. His business has started to take flight and it's all because he allowed God to intervene and guide him. Along this journey I have also allowed God to guide my steps and career. Family, when you I tell you that every thing I've tried in the past failed, and it's because I didn't wait and listen to God for guidance. Now that Darryl and I have built a strong relationship with God he has allowed us to soar like eagles. Greatness awaits us both.

I stepped out on faith by turning down journalism opportunities because I couldn't speak about God. Due to my faith and conviction, doors are opening and pouring in opportunities. Today has started out great I'm full on the word and spirit just as my cousin.

Luke 6:20-21, Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said: "Blessed are you poor, For yours is the kingdom of God. 21. Blessed are you who hunger now, For you shall be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, For you shall laugh.

The remainder of Luke 6 should be read in it's entirety because it will help you elevate in your goals. Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk and minister with me Darryl. Love you much.

Be bless,

Checking In

Hey Family,

Just checking in don't have a lot to discuss even though there is so much in the news right now. I'm sure you all know that Michael Jackson is being laid to rest finally at the famous Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, California. Also in the news Whitney Houston bombed on Good Morning America, claiming that is was Oprah's fault due to appearing on her show before her performance. She stated she over used her voice on the Oprah Show.

Chris Brown was on Larry King this week saying how sorry he was for whipping Rihanna's ass then he stated he didn't remember doing it. While he was being all confused with I'm sorry to I don't remember, his mother was by his side being emotional as Chris talked about being in a household witnessing his mother getting her ass whipped. Now while Chris was using his mother's ass whippings as an excuse I was actually getting teary eyed. Wow! How about that...lol. No!!! Man should beat on a woman unless she steps to him like a man. I don't believe in turning the other cheek...lol.

In other news Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel welcomed their first child a boy into the world on Wednesday, they named him Walker Diggs.

Now to finish up on this post let's recap over all the losses for the summer of 2009, starting May 4 with the death of Dom Deluise until this week when DJ Am died. In order of expiration:

A Letter From A Blogger

Dear Friends,

It's been a minute since I last posted here but I am back. I've been doing some soul searching by way of prayer and meditation. I'm learning new things about myself and my dreams as well as goals. For about a month now I have taken steps in the overall betterment of me. Great things are to come very soon. God is truly blessing me in all walks of my life, he has been developing my writings to great lengths. I encourage you all to be steadfast on your journeys for positive and productive futures. The solitude that I've been in has cleansed me and made me new. A new man with better intentions of achieving the success that is due me. I want to thank all of my followers and friends who have been encouraging me and uplifting me during a time when I needed it the most. I'm currently working on two new books that I'm truly excited about so look out for them in the near future.

"To understand where I'm at and where I'm headed, I have to recognize my past and accept all that I have endured. My struggles and sacrifices have made me a better person to continue on life's journey."
