What Is Normal?

Why is it that most gay men feel they are not normal? What is normal? This is a topic that I've heard talked about often, society has brainwashed the masses with their perception of normal. For generations people have taken a stance on what they feel is normal from slavery, interacial marriages, biracial children, ethnic equality, and sexual orientation just to name a few. If we as people were to live life according to the majority, we would be a boring and generic society full of unhappiness.

Let's take a brief look at interacial marriages: according to many people of all cultures it is a sin to marry outside of your race, now this theory of their's comes from misinterpreting the bible where "God tells his people to be separate; not to be integrated." Now just like today it was misunderstood in biblical times.
In the book of Numbers, Miriam and Aaron talked against Moses who was married to a Cushite (black woman). Due to Miriam and Aaron's self-righteous behavior, it angered God that they spoke against his prophet. Miriam would be stricken with leprosy for 7 days for her sins against Moses' marriage. (This story can be found in Numbers 12). God did say in (Deut 7:1) Israelites couldn't marry Canaanites because they were wicked idolaters. The command was based on religion not race, so interacial marriges is not a sin by God but by man.

The moral of the this post is to allow you to be happy with who God made you to be. No one can say you are not normal because of your sexuality, because you are born to be you. If everyone in the world was on the same page what would the purpose of living be. We are all suppose to love, cherish, respect, and encourage one another regardless of gender, creed, ethnic background, and social economics. If you are gay be the best damn gay person you can be, if you are straight be the best at it and leave other people's business alone. It is my opinion that there are more successful gay people than straight in the world because they are not engaging in pointless ridicule of straight folks life journey. Once we learn to control what affects our own life directly we will be a better society. I live by this statement, "Society's prejudice rejects people or things outside their understanding." Get to know people individually and learn their story before you judge.
